Grove Hill Development Board
Formed in December 2007, the Grove Hill Development Board consists of seven interested locals who are working to make positive things happen in the community. Board members include Robyn Blaylock, Cindy Gilmore, Cheryl Hicks, Delane Hicks, Robbie Lipscomb, and Kevan Tucker, with Gina Skipper serving as Director.
The mission of the Development Board is to enhance the quality of life for Grove Hill citizens by focusing on aesthetics and economic development and by promoting the quaint nature of the small town. The group started new projects this year, as well as continued on-going projects. With a grant from Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission, the Development Board was successful in establishing a Farmers' Market this summer, which brings fresh, locally-grown produce to locals each Thursday. Also, the Development Board initiated a window décor program, in which the windows of numerous vacant buildings in town have been decorated.
The group continues to sell afghans that feature community points of interest and the slogan, "Grove Hill...
